SOAPS:
S: ABCNEWS presents a scenerio about how racism in America is confronted. In this photo, there is a white cashier with two Mexican men along with a white women standing on the other side of the counter. Although this photo does not portray racism, the situation itself is very essential to how our country is today.
O: This was in in New Jersey in 2009 when ABC news experimented with the hired Mexican actors.
A: The audience of this photo and experiment are people who are against immigration. With the immigrants who already live in America, they blame them for our job deficiencies, which is one thing, but insulting them is another. Justice needs to be brought to people like the cashier. However, when the two men tried asking for help, very few people stood up, and one person even provoked this situation by helping the cashier.
P: The purpose of this was to portray how our society deals with minor situations like this. People that are disrespectful like this person aren’t aware of issues in this country. There are also many bystanders that do not do anything to stop this.
S: The speakers that view the intentions of this photo are people against racism. The Mexican men were discriminated while trying to simply order food.
