Hello AP'ers.
Your homework over these next few days is to write a PRACTICE synthesis essay. Please stop by the office in the morning (Thursday 4.19) and pick up the prompt and the sources. We still have ALOT of work to do with regard to understanding how to respond to a synthesis prompt. With that said, this will not count as an essay grade, rather it will be out of 50pts. for completion. The goal of this essay is for you to receive feedback from me and from your writing group.
I strongly encourage you all to take some risks in your writing with this essay. To clarify, try some new strategies or ways to adress the prompt than you have all year long. This is the most important thing to keep in mind when you want to get a different score than what you've been getting all along.
This prompt will seem a little different than the others we've practiced...but don't be fooled. USE THE STEPS WE COVERED IN CLASS.
PLEASE USE THE SYNTHESIS BIBLE, YOUR COMP. NOTES FROM CLASS, AND THE RUBRIC THAT WILL BE ATTACHED TO THE PROMPT.
PLEASE BRING ALL OF YOUR FOOD SOURCES TO CLASS ON TUESDAY.
